Mollie McCoy
Creative Director
Hi, I’m Mollie, and I’m the Creative Director of Lucky Ladybug Productions. I was born and raised in Longmont, CO, and spent two years living in the great state of Montana after graduating from high school in 2018. During my time in Montana, I began my studies, but after suffering a stroke in 2019 and with COVID-19 hitting in 2020, I decided to move back to Colorado to continue my education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. There, I studied Journalism with a minor in Philosophy. After graduating in the fall of 2022, I spent a year doing freelance work and political outreach, working as a substitute teacher in Denver Public Schools and Boulder Valley School District with students from K-12.
In addition to my teaching, I worked as a freelance film creative, building my production credentials, and served as a communications coordinator for several organizations. That same year, I managed a political campaign that won 14,388 votes out of 30,379 as the only staff member in a completely grassroots-funded organization. Through these experiences, I developed a strong passion for communication and the way we interact with the world around us, leading me to pursue a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, which I will complete in the summer of 2025.
After completing my master’s, I hope to use my degree to improve design and user experience for brands, organizations, and applications focused on mental health, healthcare, and education. My work in the education sphere, along with my personal experiences with healthcare, has shown me the great need for better communication design around social-emotional systems, from curriculum to healthcare applications and telehealth.
